the scarlet book files are inserted shortly after their departure from the previous save. she blinks at the new scenario, a bit taken aback by the prompt presented to them.

"gives you a bit of whiplash, hm? some of these instances make you die horribly and the others - " she trails off, extending a hand. the tera crystals spin a badge with a roaring dragon and around them the scenery ripples.

snarling sounds of draconid creatures, echoes and nothing more, bounce off the walls.

freya does a bit of a double-take when greyson connors walks into the room to survey her work. the construct is eerily identical to the man beside her. in past simulations, her brain has always logically told her that there must be some inconsistencies, some way for her to know, on instinct, that she can tell which beings are fake and which beings are real.

her skin crawls. the power spot glows and an animated voice greets them.

she exchanges a look with the real greyson and waits.

He frowns.

His ears carry nothing of this simulations purpose, and even as the page on this world flips, his eyes never leave those copied amethyst orbs.

He can't help but wonder if his were just as lifeless.

then they're gone. greyson's doppelganger turns into pixelated light and freya turns away, rubbing her temples. the next is a new one for her too, and she's keen to leave the last one well enough behind. there'll be other options to dissect from it later.

it reminds her of galar. her galar, with the way the townsperson talks to them.

when the horse in question breaks through and into the town, freya spares a glance at greyson and breaks out a pokeball. lyune emerges and looses a powerful flamethrower at the steed.
